The Academy of Clinical Research (AOCR) was established in 2007 by a skilled team of medical professionals dedicated to the advancement of research by providing the highest levels of education, training, and trial management.
The Academy of Clinical Research (AOCR) is located in Arlington, TX, encompassed by two major metropolitan areas: Dallas and Fort Worth. AOCR is established by a skilled team of professionals who are dedicated to the advancement of medicine by participation in the conduct of clinical trials. Working closely with the Food and Drug Administration, Pharmaceutical and Device sponsors, the groups of Principal Investigators and staff bring forth years of clinical and research experience from private practices, hospitals and other research centers.
AOCR is a dedicated research facility and is fully staffed with experienced study coordinators and Research Director whose responsibilities include budgets, contracts and oversees all regulatory completion. All staff is experienced with paper and electronic CRF completion. GCP training is conducted on a yearly basis for the staff and physicians at AOCR.
AOCR is set up with research required equipment: centrifuge, ECG machine, local blood processing lab, -20 freezer, patient evaluation and follow up visit room, locked drug storage area, temperature control and monitoring. Arlington Hospitals are used for projects requiring specialty procedures.
The subjects are recruited from private practice settings, hospitals, advertisements and referrals from other local physicians.
AOCR uses both paper based and electronic medical records for all subjects. AOCR can accommodate all Sponsor visits, such as, Pre-site Selection Visits, Site Initiation Visits, Monitoring, and Closeout. AOCR has never been audited by the FDA.

Staff Profile:
Umer Hafeez
Director of Research
Umer has over 9 years of research experience and has been involved in clinical research as a Study Coordinator, Clinical Research Associate and Associate Director with numerous pharmaceutical companies: Ingenix, PPD, AstraZeneca, Boston Scientific, Novartis Vaccines, Amgen and Genetech, LLC. Umer has experience with working in various therapeutic and device studies. Umer is currently serving as the Sr. Research Scientist and Director of Research at Academy of Clinical Research.
Victoria Serralta, M.D.
PI-Dermatology
Dr. Serralta is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Mohs Surgery, and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. She serves as a faculty member at John Peter Smith Hospital. Victoria also has various publications and has conducted numerous presentations. Victoria is fluent in Spanish and French languages. Dr. Serralta is interested in all aspects of Dermatological studies in Phases II-IV.
Hassan Noubani, M.D.
PI-Internal Medicine/Pediatrics
Dr. Noubani completed his Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship in 1994 from North Shore University Hospital in NY. He is a member of American Board of Pediatrics. Hassan has a Professor of Pediatrics and has numerous publications. Dr. Noubani is a licensed physician in NY, TX, VA, PA and MD. Dr. Hassan is interested in participating in Vaccine, Hypertension, Diabetes, Women's Health, and other primary care trials.
Huy Tran, M.D.
PI-Ophthalmology
Dr. Tran is a full time Ophthalmologist located with AOCR and has his private practice within at the facility. Dr. Tran is a member of Texas Medical Association, Tarrant County Ophthalmology Society, and Fellow, American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Tran is fluent in speaking Vietnamese and Latin. Dr. Tran is interested in all Ophthalmology trials.
Shakil Tukdi, M.D.
PI-Psychiatry
Dr. Tukdi serves as a Director of Psychiatric Services at Harris Methodist Hospital, Fort Worth, TX. He has also served as a staff Psychiatrist at John Peter Smith Hospital. Shakil is experienced as Research Assistant and has conducted various Psychiatric studies, including, depression, and anxiety disorders. Dr. Tukdi would be interested in reviewing all outpatient Psychiatric studies.
Sherif Al-Farra, M.D., FCCP, DABSM
PI-Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
Dr. Al-Farra serves as the Assistant Professor of Medicine and Chief of Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Medicine. He is a Fellow of American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Fellow of American College of Chest Physicians, and American Medical Association. Sherif is also trained in Sleep Disorders. Dr. Al-Farra has conducted various presentations and has received numerous awards. Dr. Al-Farra is interested in allergy and asthma studies.
Felicia McLeod Abram, D.O.
nesthesiology
Dr. Abram completed her Residence in Anesthesiology from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She is Board Certified and has served as the President of American Diabetes Association Leadership Counsel. Dr. Abram's research interests include Pain management, Diabetes management and Device studies.
